what’s new on Facebook
I must have caught this really early because I can’t even find anything on the web about it. It seems that Facebook has released a new feature today for viewing posted images.
Some of the changes I noticed are:
- white space for profile info, comment and details has been moved to the right when it was previously below the image.
- when you hover over the image left/right navigation arrows come up as well as photo details, tag and like buttons.
- there is now ‘Sponsored’ (advertising) links added
- looks like the optimal image size is square in orientation (probably for instagram and hipstamatic images).
- and my favorite change… it’s responsive.
- what does this mean? it means, depending on the uploaded size of the image, Facebook will keep the original size and shrink it down to the device or screen size you are viewing from. In testing it, the smallest size seems to be iPad using landscape view (1024 x 748 pixels).

I aspire to be like Starbucks
I just went to the Starbucks site for day 1 of their holiday campaign and the website is a web nerd’s wet dream. They’ve gone above and beyond to cover all the bases. There is a Flash and HTML version and have also included responsive design into the HTML and don’t forget the auto-detect.
I would just like to thank Starbucks for giving me something to aspire to with the company that I work for.
